 Praying  that each of you had a joyous Christmas! As we come to the close of another amazing year we are overhwhelmed by God’s amazing love.  Our familyhas been  blessed in many ways and what a privilege to be a small part of what Father is doing here in our city and among the nations.

As a family we flew less this year than we ever have in our time living abroad. We enjoyed a beach vacation to Phuket, Thailand after attending the homeschool conference. We also made a couple trips to Singapore for visa runs. We went  on lots of educational field trips around KL, and the kids continue to do modeling and fashion shows. Lots of time was spent on the soccer field and at the ice hockey rink. We enjoyed hosting several friends and volunteer teams that they might see Father’s heart for this city as they joined in the work.  Another first for our kids was trick or treating at Halloween and a haunted house. A big blessing was having family visit, Mimi & Papa spent Thanksgiving holidays with us. We are thankful for many new international friendships and partners as we watched  God building His church while focusing more on Ch planting the second half of this year. Caden thanks all of you who prayed for him to have some friendships with boys his age!

We are looking expectanly to 2012 and all God will do especially the addition of a new member to our family. Yes it’s crazy adding to this crew:)  but we are all thrilled at the prospect of a new baby sister. We’ve  had a desire in our hearts to adopt for a long time, but this past year the Lord began rekindling that desire and bringing it closer to reality. We completed our Homestudy in the fall and are waiting now to find the right child Father has to place in our family. There are no adoption agencies in our country so it is all done privately. I was told “You all are in charge of your adoption” —that can be a bit daunting:)We covet your prayers as we go through this process and trust the Lord as He sees us through every question and  need.                                                                                                      

We are so grateful for each of you –our prayer partners who walk with us through these journeys of sharing Jesus love and seeing lives transformed. Thanks for your giving to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering that enables our family to be here. We appreciate your faithful prayers that carry our family through the hard days and for the encouragement as we see others obeying and following in the freedom of a personal Savior. We are praying for you!!

We had lots of yummy food, new friends,  and fun fellowship as we gathered for our first party in our new home. It was a great time of just getting to know each other better as many are new aquaintances. Scott did a question and answer time to help share the vision of the ch plant. Please pray for wisdom as we begin placing leadership and helping others to serve with their talents. We’ve been praying for a worship  and S.S. coordinator and for others to fill the needed positions. Father has been so faithful to provide. We want to see S.S. and home fellowship groups begin soon.

With hearts full of Thanksgiving

Sorry it seems last months draft was never published so here it is.

Praise the Lord the Office of Immigration has  granted us a  stay pass for three more years. We really appreicate your  prayers as this process was a bit more complex than we had anticipated. Last month I shared that the long processing meant we would need to leave the country but in Fathers great provision we were given an extension and didn’t need to travel out! Thank you for praying and for the grace that was extended.

Praise the Lord that all the remodeling went as scheduled and IC@MK was  able to hold their  first service on November 6  at our new home in  Gateway Kiaramas. We were overwhelmed by more than one hundred attending representing about 20 different nationalities. The Lord continues to amaze us as he grows this sweet family of believers. Please pray for us as we grow and as others begin serving with their gifts and talents.

Praise the Lord  for a great visit from Mimi and Papa. We enjoyed celebrating Thanksgiving holidays together,  getting to spend time with the  people and work here, and a trip up North to Penang. So grateful that travels went smoothly with Mimi’s broken foot. It is always a great blessing to get to be with our family!

The Christmas holiday outreach is already upon us. Please pray for the opportunites we have to share the truth of Christmas and that the hearts will be ready to receive and be set free. IC@MK will be having a Christmas Potluck Dinner and Caroling on Dec. 10. True North will have a Christmas party on the 15th, and our neighborhood group in Putra Heights will be having a party on December 17.

Prayng that each of you have a great Thanksgiving Holiday and that you take time to give Thanks to the Lord for all he has done!

Fun times with Mimi &Papa

It is hard to believe that we have been meeting for 8 Sundays already with our family at IC@MK. We have averaged about 70 each week and seen many different nations represented. Thank you for your prayers for the provision of a place to lease. The first place did not work out we believe, because God had another place for us. Some great Christian landlords have happily leased us office space and helped us to get all the necessary permission for the renovations. The walls have been hacked out between the office spaces, painted and today the carpeting will be put down. Furniture and sound system to be arriving soon. We are planning for our first Sunday in our new home with our new family on November 6. Please pray for all the details that must come together to make this happen.  The building is called Gateway Kiaramas- we are praying that this fellowship will be a gateway to reaching every nation, tongue, and tribe with the Fathers salvation.

Tonight October 27, will be the second True North international youth club meeting. We have a special Third Culture Kid speaker coming to share.Thanks for praying us through a great first meeting with 25 teens from six different schools. Some were a bit apprehensive and checking things out to see if it really would be fun. They played in pudding, marked on peoples feet, ate pizza,and all the crazy fun teen stuff they like to do. Scott shared a message about what True North means and being pointed in Fathers direction. Many plan to bring along their friends this time and we were excited to have several non believers. The vision is for this to be a city wide partnership reaching out to all  international teens from various  fellowships and schools.  Pray that this would be a time of encouragement for the teens, that they would be overhwhelmed by Fathers love, and that more would follow the Master.

Thanks for your prayers concerning our much needed work permits. Things are taking a bit longer than we expected as the lawyers doing it for us are being VERY detailed. It’s a good thing to be done properly and will hopefully get us a three year permit, however it puts us very close to the expiration of our tourist visas . We have been advised we may need to make an unexpected visa run. Things are busyand it would need to be in the next week. The other option could be  an extension or paying an overstay fine???Please pray for this process and that we will have wisdom to know what to do. 

We are so grateful for all you prayer warriors out there who are covering us in this crucial time of planting a new fellowship. It can be so overwhelming with so many decisions and of course the enemy pushing back. So Glad God is building this and not us! So thankful for all the partners through prayer, finances, and other ways that he supplies each need. What a mighty God we serve! May you feel his love today and share it with others around you.

Next Thursday the 22nd we will launch a program for the international teens called True North. This will be open to any teens in the area that want to come and hear the Word, worship, meet friends, and just have fun.  Pray for the plans and for the parents who are so anxious to have something Bible based to send their teens to.

We’ve had opportunity to meet up with lots of friends through the holiday partying-Hari Raya(end of fasting month for Muslims) and the Moon Festival (mid autumn for Chinese). Last weekend we went to the W families home for Mid Autumn Festival and to play with lanterns. Still praying for them and for our PH group to grow.

Thanks for remembering A & Jo as we talk about God’s plans for marriage with them. They did their gov’t registration this past weekend and now looking forward to the wedding ceremony in December. They came to the service on Sunday and will be living near the ch after they’re married. As we meet up again tomorrow pray that our conversation will touch their hearts and draw them closer to Father.

Could you please lift up one more fam that is really on our hearts this week. The N family came last Sunday, Father is local and Mother is from USA. Very first time for 11 yr old son to come to a ch, the 16 yr old daughter told her mom she really wants to start reading the Bible so she can understand more of what Uncle Scott is talking about. They need Jesus!!

Father is doing some amazing things and we continue to stand in Awe as  he builds his ch. Praise Him!

• we signed a temporary lease on the shoplots and prayed for the certificate of occupancy to come quickly as the Hari Raya holidays are upon us and it would mean a long delay
• this week the certificate was issued and we can move forward with the official lease and begin preparations for the renovations
• a Korean ch nearby is going to allow us start meeting in their shoplot and use their instruments until our renovations are finished
• a partner church is sending funds that will cover our initial lease and deposits
• IBC Singapore will be partnering with us in the efforts and sending folks to help out
• this list could go on and on as Jehovah Jireh is providing for our needs

Please pray for the International Ch @ Mt K as we begin Sunday morning services on Sept. 11. We will have a small preview service this Sunday with the core group (just to practice:).  IBC Singapore will be sending a few folks to help lead in worship as we get started. Please pray that our worship time would bring many nations together to honor and glorify Him. Pray for Gods Word to transform lives as Scott shares it.  We continue to ask for wisdom to deal with many decisions in getting things going.

This week is Hari Raya -the celebration to end the Muslims month long fasting from sunrise to sunset.  They see this as a purification and a time to seek forgiveness and make all things right from the past year. To celebrate they will wear traditional Malay outfits to the mosque and have parties with LOTs  of food, spending time with family and friends.  Ask that they may know the One True God and that we can find ways to share Gods truths with our Malay friends.

There have been more crack downs this month with immigration, especially those having multiple tourist visas in their passports. This increases our need to get on a work permit soon. Please continue to pray that we will be able to secure a long term visa within the next 90 days. We went to Singapore this month on a visa run and enjoyed time sharing with IBC Singapore.

Thank your for your prayers that are piercing the darkness here. May the kingdom expand as we love on our neighbors here in Malyasia and for you in USA.  Praying for each of you!

I raise my eyes to the hills--MY HELP comes from the Lord!

Praise Father for an awesome time with the Expedition teen team. What a fantatic team of TCK’s who came ready to serve and reach out with Fathers  love. They taught the children in two Burmese refugee schools and painted another new school. They fed the homeless downtown, and spent time with our local youth. They taught at a learning center and then together with those teens went to a school with face painting, balloons, games, and salvation bracelets. They worked together with the youth from CBC at Harvest of Love ministry to the poor and single moms. And of course some fun times bowling, rock climbing, swimming, and shopping.  They also spread a blanket of prayer over all the new ch plant areas and encouraged the brothers and sisters. Many of our local youth learned how to share their testimonies. It was obvious that Fathers hand covered this team in every detail and even the old klunker van we had to drive held up. All glory to God for many hearts touched during this time. The local youth were so excited and are ready to go out into the community again:) Pray for the continued growth of the believers  and for those who are still waiting to make a decision.

After a 24 hour delay to get a new passport, the couple I mentioned last time arrived yesterday. Pray that Father will confirm his plans for them if they are to join us in the Ch planting work of KL. With only 5 days here, they are busy looking at housing, medical, and all the things it would entail for them to move here. Pray for their two young sons staying with family while they are here. Pray for their time meeting with local partners and the core group they would potentially be working with .

Please remember a special meeting we are having this weekend July 29&30 with our core group for the International Ch @ Mt K. The pastor of IBC Singapore is a specialist in multi cultural work, he will be speaking to our group on these topics. IBC is also looking to partner with us in this new endeavor. Pray that Father will guide us in how we can work together to reach the nations in KL.

We have located a brand new office space for lease that  looks like  a suitable meeting place for the Intl Ch. Please pray that Father would grant wisdom to know if this is the place and how to proceed. It will mean initial start up costs with some remodeling  and all the equipment set up. Trusting our Faithful Father who always knows our needs and supplies it all!

Caden is gone this week to an Outward Bound Camp that is just for TCK’s. They are kayaking, rock climbing, camping and other fun adventure activities. Praying  for him and the other youth to be challenged not only physically but also spiritually.

How blessed it is to join with you –our brothers and sisters in praying and reaching out to the hopeless of KL!!  I want you to know how important your prayers are and what a difference they are making in touching so many lives this summer!! Thank you Father!!

We also have another special group of these Third Culture Kids coming to join us for a week of volunteer work. Please pray for the Expedition team who will be with us from July 12-21. Ten American teens (15-16yr olds)coming from 5 different Asian countries to serve through different community activities. They will be teaching at some Burmese refugee schools, activities with Malaysian youth, and covering the areas where the new ch plants are beginning. Please pray for them as they travel (some will travel alone) for smooth transitions, safety, that they will experience Father in a deeper way, and that they will touch the lives of many here with Fathers love. Planning here can be a bit challenging so please pray for the deatils of logistics and daily plans that it will all be according to Fathers will.

The search is on for a meeting place for the International Ch @Mt K to begin meeting in, hopefully by September. Please pray for wisdom and that Father would shine his light on the right place. Many of our core team are traveling and will begin returning this month. We continue to get together each week to eat and pray, and seek direction. Pray for unity as many details need to be worked out to begin this new work that Father has called each of us to.

We continue to pray for co workers both local and international. Please pray for a couple who will come on a vision visit at the end of this month. Pray they will know clearly if Father is calling them to join us in the Ch planting work for KL/Klang Valley.

May you feel Fathers blessings poured out upon you today as you join his amazing work through praying for  KL. He is God of this city and we claim it for him!!

We also had a volunteer basketball team from Vision Sports come last Friday and join us for a week of sports outreach. They taught basic skills to youth in the mornings and played area University teams in the evenings. They were able to interact with lots of folks in one week. Please pray for the seeds that were planted and for the testimonies that they shared. They just flew out this afternoon, safe travels for them and for the ways Father wants to use them as they share back home and grow a heart for the nations. It’s been a great time of encouragement to have others join with us in the work and to see lives being transformed.  Praise God for holding back the rain as all the basketball courts were outdoors, praise him for protection over the playing (only a slight sprained ankle), praise him for all the young people who were touched by the love of Jesus thru their actions and words. Giving all Glory to God as his name is being made known to more this summer!!
